SECTION 1 – VATA

The Vata body is naturally a smaller build with bones and joints that crack and prone to injury. They tend to have difficulty putting on weight. Their skin and hair are dry and they lack moisture in the body. Vatas have low body temperature and always feel cold. Their appetite varies and they often prefer to graze throughout the day rather than eat meals. They accumulate air, so they have a lot of bloating and gas with the tendency toward constipation. Vatas love to move and are always on the move.
The Vata mind is creative and expansive. They have extreme all or nothing personalities. They talk quickly, jumping from one idea to the next. Organizing their thoughts is difficult for them. Vatas have an anxious personality, are easily overwhelmed, and suffer from insomnia. Vatas have great ideas that they are passionate about but have difficulty sticking to it once their next idea comes about.
Pittas have a medium, muscular build. They have a fast metabolism and are athletic. In fact, their digestion is the strongest of the doshas giving them large appetites and are irritable if they miss a meal. They tend to have oily, sensitive skin that is prone to acne and inflammation. They easily get rashes and hives. Pittas often have digestive issues such as heart burn and ulcers, suffer from sensitive skin and allergies. They love working out, especially in a competitive environment.
The Pitta mind is ambitious and driven. When they have a goal, they will achieve it. They often suffer from burnout. They are great entrepreneurs and make excellent team leaders. Pittas are perfectionists, who are often hard on themselves and are more likely to demonstrate anger and impatience. Others may find them to be very intense.
Kapha types tend to gain weight easily and have naturally curvy body and big boned. They have big eyes and round faces with soft, supple skin. They are well moisturized with combination skin (oily T-zone with dry cheeks). Kaphas are more on the cold side but with clammy hands and feet. They love to eat for comfort and enjoyment, but they have a slow digestive system making them feel heavy and sluggish after a meal. Kaphas often emotionally eat when bored, sad or lonely. They hold onto water resulting in bloating and water retention. They are slow movers and prefer to sleep in and stay in bed. Kaphas have a lot of stamina and can spend hours on a task without feeling burnt out.
Kaphas are the motherly types that get along with everyone. They have a calming presence, make great listeners, and hate drama. Kaphas keep their problems to themselves and often suffer from depression and feeling lonely. They have a tough time speaking their mind and will stick with a job or relationship that they are unhappy with longer than other doshas. They love steady long-lasting relationship and friendships and are very committed to them.
