Welcome to Lotus Mama Yoga! Let me introduce myself. My name is Kaly. First and foremost, I’m a mom to my wonderful two-year-old son, Nolan. I’m also a wife, physical therapist, yogi, fitness enthusiast, and runner.
After a difficulty childbirth resulting in a birthing injury and struggling with postpartum depression, the one thing that helped me to overcome some of these challenges was the practice of yoga. I started to have less pain and feel like myself again. I realized I wanted to help other moms to find a new and improved version of themselves in motherhood. I always wanted to be a yoga instructor, but never had the time to do it. With the pandemic, it opened up online yoga school options. I found a reputable school and completed the 250 hours on my own time, while working full time as a physical therapist and taking care of my two-year-old.
After getting my certification, I still had this underlying goal of helping other moms through yoga and education. I hope to continue to further my knowledge of postpartum and prenatal yoga and exercise with further certifications yet to come. All of this led me to starting this blog to share my knowledge and experiences with all of you!
